What should I do if the system is stating my Social Security number is already in use?
There are two reasons why the system is prompting you with that message.
- The most common reason is that you previously created an account with CHCI. Your social security number, not your email, serves as a unique identifier and will not allow the same user to create two accounts. Try logging in using a previous email address.
- You may have input your social security number incorrectly.
If you suspect the issue is a previous account (which is very, very common!), send us a message in the message center and we can correct it on the back end. Just tell us which email address you would like to keep active and we will reset your password.
